I don’t know the Equals but cannot wait to check them out. Yay thanks for the tip. I tell ya tapping the undiscovered old music is really my favorite thing the past few years.

70′s British punk. Ramones fast with Clash level musicianship… so good.

Nina Simone – I don’t know how I missed her but I am so happy that i will be listening to her from now until I depart this mortal curl (sp)

Brian Eno’s 1st two albums (Here Come The Warm Jets & Taking Tiger Mountain By Strategy)
Better than Bowie. Sorry. needed to be said.

Veedon Fleece by Van Morrison – It’s like the sequel to Astral Weeks. Jazzy meandering vocals with very few hooks that make for a tres existential Irish trip.

another note: I’ve recently been introduced to The Equals — a great late 60s British band, that penned a few of the songs that became Clash hits, like Police on my Back. Are you familiar with their albums? Another one: I just discovered Slade. Who knew that Cum On Feel The Noize was not a Quiet Riot original?? :)
