So, my goal will be to post one music podcast/mix (on every Friday that I am able) as an mp3 download.
My musical tastes cross a pretty broad spectrum and that will be by reflected by the variety in themes of the mixes.
Some of the podcasts will be mad cross-genre jams, others will collect my faves in bohemian hip-hop, and June I plan to upload a decade’s worth of my “Summer Pop” series.
Today’s mix “Lost Verses” has a decidedly melancholy tone. The songs are a combination of alt-country, sixties pop, and bluesy folk. I started making it this past Christmas, when I was driving around wintry Vermont hills, and finished it just in time for sunny spring walks. I feel it suits both moods well. It is equal parts sad and sweet, and an expression of a musically mellowing 37-year-old, for whom Blood on the Tracks and Wilco’s Sky Blue Sky have been the most frequent soundtracks for the past few years.
(An apology to anyone who has received mixes from me in the past– I am occasionally guilty of repeating all time favorites, so don’t be surprised to hear the VU’s Pale Blue Eyes… again!)
